Development the third step

The development phase of the ADDIE model is the third step. In the development portion of the model assembly of the design's materials are debugged and worked through. This phase allows for those ideas and content to be vetted and poured over until they are ready for launch. Ultimately this phase allows you as the creator to align your mode and method of instruction to your desired outcome and your audience.

J. Clark Gardner's YouTube series on the ADDIE model does a great job of illustrating and explaining the Development phase.

Your top 3 takeaway's from phase 3 should be:

  1. Create a Sample Instruction

  2. Develop the Course Materials

  3. Conduct a Run Through of what you've created.
